Huren Marsh - 'Home Fronts: 150 years of Social Housing in Haringey' for LFA!

Huren Marsh is a resident at Artist Hive Studios and has created an amazing interchangeable installation ‘Home Fronts: 150 years of Social Housing in Haringey’ for London Festival of Architecture!

The theme of LFS 2021 is 'Care' and Marsh’s piece, ‘Home Fronts’ explores social housing in the London Borough of Haringey through a series of 30 black-and-white photographs of buildings from the 1850s to the 1970s that reflect a societal sense of ‘care’. The buildings documented include social houses, homes and flats built by philanthropic organisations to municipal and local authorities. Home Fronts not only encapsulates the architectural impact of social buildings but also stimulates thoughts on the value and care of these buildings that are shared in local history and experience.

Check out his installation at Hornsey Library on Park Road (N8 9JA) in Crouch End, situated within the glazed façade of the library’s entrance and can be viewed from outside.
