Our Top 3 Online Art Resources

We're coming up to five weeks now in UK Lockdown and to counteract the boredom we're bringing another edition of our top online resources and activities to try at home. This week we're focusing on all things art related. With some fantastic resources available from our nations beloved museums and artists. Suitable for all ages and especially for those who are home schooling.

1. RA PICASSO AND PAPER: VIRTUAL EXHIBITION TOUR

While the RA doors are temporarily closed, you can experience their ‘Picasso and Paper’ exhibition from home, in this video tour of the galleries. The exhibition brings together more than 300 works on paper spanning the artist's 80-year career. This show presents a dynamic collection highlighting Picasso's multi-disciplinary approach to making art. "He didn't just draw on paper - he tore it, burnt it, and made it three-dimensional." Immerse yourself in his world of innovation.

2. GRAYSON PERRY'S ART CLUB

Grayson is on a mission to unleash our collective creativity and unite the nation through art, as we live through this unique crisis. Every week Grayson will host the show from his studio - taking the country with him as he creates new art works. Grayson will talk to other famous artists, creatives and celebrity guests about how they are spending their time in isolation and host masterclasses to help teach us all how to create art.

3. CREATE YOUR VERY OWN SPIN PAINTING

One for all you home schoolers out there. Tate Kids has a fantastic resource and library full of fun ideas inspired by famous works of art. This activity shows you how to create an artwork inspired by Damien Hirst's iconic Spin Painting series. In collaboration with Okido it takes you step by step to show you how to create a mini-master piece using household items (a salad spinner and a pipette), of course add the paint and voilà. How many variations can you try?
