Hannah Pittman

Hannah Pittman is a jewellery artist driven by an interest in the effect that objects and jewellery have on us the wearer – the sense of ‘power’ that jewellery holds. By exploring jewellery and related objects throughout history and in the modern day, she examines whether they can have a positive effect and aid towards wellbeing.

Her work is self-analytical while also relatable and explores the relationship between the wearer and jewellery through concepts affecting people’s everyday - specifically wellbeing. Themes of; empowerment, self-image, fertility/infertility, motherhood and pain run through her work.

Hannah is based in London, having graduated from BDes in Three Dimensional Design (1st Class Hons) at Manchester School or Art in 2010, followed by a Masters in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing, Metalwork and Jewellery, 2012. She currently teaches at London College of Fashion (UAL) and is planning to commence her PhD in the near future.
