Emergent natural forms, organic networks and the patterns of nature fascinate me.  I look at natural structures that seem to replicate at different scales and try to imagine the invisible, vital, animating energy running through the veins of living things, cosmic forces, tides and waves.  I keep a collection of found and made objects in the studio that help me find form in the drawings. I create small sculptural pieces in wire and paper that grow out from sources such as mathematical knots and often resemble the shells, rocks and oddities gathered from shores and forest floors that they sit alongside.

Grids and networks reminiscent of a weave, bring a unifying rhythm to the drawings and screenprints.  I employ a systemic approach to drawing, loosely following a course predetermined at the beginning but working organically and allowing space for a drawing to evolve in the making process.
